The developer seeking to put a large ShopKo in Mt. Pleasant has downsized plans. The larger deal to bring one of ShopKo’s HomeTown brand stores to the city in 2016 called for using a large part of what is now the city’s rodeo grounds. The developer is now talking about possible construction and opening in February 2017 using about 1.5 acres for a considerably smaller type of HomeTown store having only 6,000 square feet.
In addition, Rite Aid has changed plans location of a new store. The current tentative agreement would share a big parking lot built by the store with the rodeo operation. Sanpete Messenger
