Zoning change in Mt. Pleasant may open way for new Shopko
The Mt. Pleasant planning commission unanimously approved a proposed zoning amendment which changed the zoning of the rodeo grounds from its prior “public facilities” classification to that of “general commercial.” By the terms of the current “due diligence” agreement, a developer and his client, Shopko, are being given until this coming Dec. 21 to finalize the planned purchase. If the rodeo-grounds purchase becomes a reality, the developer expects to break ground as early as next January. Sanpete Messenger
