Ephraim bank to be rebuilt
Cache Valley Bank has revealed plans to rebuild its building on the corner of Main and Center Streets in Ephraim and at the same time has committed to preserve the historic Canute Peterson house next door to the bank. In the letter to customers, the bank said “The scope of the project will include ultimate demolition of the bank facility due to extensive and unrepairable degradation of the original oolite sandstone foundation.” In its place, the bank said it would “rebuild a 1900’s period correct replica of the old Bank of Ephraim, using the exact same footprint of the bank as it stands today.” Sanpete Messenger
