Upgrades at the Manti-Ephraim Airport are moving forward. A few years ago the airport was able to get a commitment from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for up to $1.8 million to repave the runway and extend it as far as possible within the existing airport property boundaries. In addition to repaving and extending the runway, a number of things were needed to bring the airport up to date.
Working with the Utah Division of Aeronautics, the airport board received a $465,000 grant from the Utah Community Impact Board (CIB) for an automated weather observation station (AWOS), a pilot lounge, fuel station upgrades and an instrument approach. Sanpete Messenger
