Contentious dam, reservoir in Sanpete County OK'd
The federal Bureau of Reclamation has approved plans for a dam that Sanpete County residents have been talking about since the 1920s. The agency entered a "record of decision" for a dam and reservoir on Gooseberry Creek to irrigate county farmland. The decision paves the way for the Sanpete County Water Conservancy District to build the 120-foot dam about 16 miles upstream of Scofield Reservoir. The Gooseberry Narrows dam will impound 17,500 acre-feet of water on about 600 acres. Daily Herald
