Utah’s Board of Regents quickly and unanimously approved Snow College’s first bachelor’s degree. The vote was the last hurdle the four-year degree in commercial music, developed in a partnership with the Juilliard School of Music in New York City, had to clear before implementation.
Snow College is the first school to take advantage of a new policy adopted by the Board of Regents allowing two-year schools to offer a limited number of four-year degrees. The program has three areas of emphasis: performance, production and songwriting/composition. According to a Snow press release, classes for the bachelor’s degree should begin in August. Students should begin graduating from the course in May 2014. Sanpete Messenger
