Sevier Valley Medical Center in Richfield is on tap to receive an $18 million upgrade, which would begin the process of a phased replacementThe first step in the process is to build a new clinic facility, which is already under way. The site of the new clinic is located on 900 North, south of SVMC’s main campus. The clinic is where doctors and staff will be moved to during the construction of the addition to the SVMC building. The temporary clinic is planned as a 5,000 square foot facility.
Once the construction of the addition onto SVMC is completed, and the doctors and staff move back into the main hospital, the temporary clinic would become the new dialysis center for the region. The new clinic is scheduled for completion this summer, after which construction on the hospital expansion is slated to begin. The addition to SVMC would take the place of the current building’s west wing. With two stories, it would add approximately 40,000 square feet. Currently, the building has some 43,000 square feet.
