Forest Service seeks public comment for pozzolan mine in central Utah

The U.S. Forest Service is seeking public comment regarding a proposed mining operation, which would extract minerals from a 31-acre area located northwest of Sevier. The Forest Service has determined that pozzolan, the material that would be mined from the area, is a locatable mineral, which means extraction on the land falls under local mining laws. Green Solutions has submitted a plan of operations to the Forest Service, which has begun the process for approving a plan that would authorize the first 10 acres of mining activity. Richfield Reaper
