Millard County Planning Commission OKs zone change for hog production facility

The developer behind a proposed industrial-strength hog production facility successfully navigated his first hurdle despite a considerable show of public consternation. The Millard County Planning Commission voted 3-2 to advance a zoning change to county commissioners that could pave the way for the development of a concentrated confined animal feeding operation involving some 30,000 head of hogs on a patch of desert a little less than 10 miles west of Hinckley.
