New Three-Year American Community Survey Data Available

Last month, the U.S. Census Bureau released 2011 one-year American Community Survey estimates for states and large areas. Today, three-year estimates (2009-2011) are available for states and areas with a population of 20,000 or more. (I checked—the numbers are available in the American FactFinder.)

Remember that the American Community Survey replaces much of the demographic data we’re used to getting from the decennial Census. The Census Bureau calls it “the primary source of small-area estimates available on a wide range of important statistics about people and housing for every community across the country.”

Counties in Utah with new 3-year estimates include:
  • Box Elder
  • Cache
  • Carbon
  • Davis
  • Iron
  • Salt Lake
  • Sanpete
  • Sevier
  • Summit
  • Tooele
  • Uintah
  • Utah
  • Wasatch
  • Washington
  • Weber
