Spring City moves forward with grant for historic school restoration

Spring City is moving forward in pursuing a bonded loan of $323,000 for restoration of the Historic Old Spring City School. The city council voted unanimously to go for the loan so that a $323,000 grant offered by the Utah Community Impact Board (CIB) could be received. The CIB offered the grant on condition the
city matches the money. The council’s decision was based on the agreement that the Friends of Historic Spring City will pay off the loan. The Friends will also work with the city as “technical advisors” on the building. Sanpete Messenger
