Officials have broken ground for Sterling’s new community center. The center should be finished in October, if not sooner. Last September Sterling was approved for $555,000 from the Community Impact Board (CIB). Half of the money is in the form of a grant and the other $278,000 is a zero-interest loan, bringing the yearly payment for the center to approximately $9,000 and increasing each household city bill by around $5 a month.
