Grant will make possible repairs to three Mt. Pleasant buildings

Repairs to historic city buildings in Mt. Pleasant are finally moving forward with the recent approval of a federal energy grant. The city applied for an energy grant in the spring but did not receive approval until October. Another grant from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development program was approved Sept. 2. grant provides $255,000 for heating and air conditioning upgrades in the Carnegie library, city hall and armory building. The money will also pay to upgrade lighting in the library and armory, which is now used as a recreation center. Sanpete Messenger
