Aurora's new community center started

Officials for the town of Aurora gathered recently to break ground for a new community center. “We're kind of scattered in four different buildings right now,” said Mayor Scott Gurney. “This will tie everything together under one roof.”

Aurora has a city office, which the town rents, on Main Street. However, the office isn't large enough to accommodate city records, which are stored in the clerk's home. The new building is designed to provide a place for its municipal court, town council chambers and a garage for its police car, Gurney said. The new building also has a 2,800-square-foot multipurpose room that can be used for weddings, family reunions and other events. A kitchen and bathroom facilities are also included in the new center's design. The Richfield Reaper
